Board of Deputies of British Jews

The CHN hosted the first in a series of talks in conjunction with the City friends of the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies (OCHS) on Thursday 3 March 2011 at Accenture’s offices. The event was attended by 100 guests from nearly 50 different organisations and was possible due to the generosity of the Accenture Diversity Networks. Please see below for an overview of the event. Royal College of Art event

The Royal College of Art (RCA) hosted a panel debate run by FuelRCA titled “Ambition – Can I have it all” in which the City Hindus Network participated alongside designer and entrepreneur Clare Brass, author and business guru Charles Handy and psychoanalyst Darian Leader. These termly round table discussions are run by FuelRCA, the RCA’s professional development platform that helps students and recent graduates make the transition to a professional life in the creative sector. London, 21 November 2010 – Members of the City Hindus Network, a non-profit organisation for professionals mainly from the Hindu community working in London, today participated in National Sewa Day, a day of social action, by volunteering to clean and renew Victoria Park in Tower Hamlets and distribute food at homeless shelters in Brent, Camden and Westminster. The team of nearly 40 volunteers from 28 City firms planted over 3000 spring bulbs, dug up nearly 300 planting areas, collected more than 420 items of food and toiletries and helped feed 85 homeless people. Bijna Dasani, Pratik Dattani and Dhruv Patel were interviewed by CB Patel on the ‘CB Patel Live’ Gujarati show on MATV Sky Channel 793 at 7pm on Thursday 4 November 2010. The programme discussed the significance of Diwali and how the young Hindu generation in Britain today celebrates it. The discussion revolved around the meaning and contribution of the City Hindus Network for modern Hindus and how best to achieve the retention and spread of the Hindu culture and heritage.
